Year 5 6 used Scratch for the second week and used instructions from Mr Haughton, an ICT teacher from Middleton, to create a racing car game.

Yesterday in Literacy we used our imagination to think about what animal could be hiding in our eggs. When we went to ICT we created animations of the eggs and the animals hatching.

Years 3 4 Bring Images to life

Years 3 & 4 have started a new topic on Bring images to life. Today one class used digital camera’s to take photograph of each other, the other classes used webcams to take photo’s and then used the transparent tool in 2Paint a Picture to create Julian Opie style pictures.

Year 5 6 using Scratch

Years 5 & 6 started using Scratch today, they used the software to program an Etch a Sketch game. Thank you to Mr Haughton for his instructions for the game. Here are a few examples of their work.

Abby’s game – use the arrow keys to draw you picture, see what happens if you click the ‘b’ key and the ‘s’ key. Click the Green flag for a new drawing.

Joseph’s game – use the arrow keys to make your drawing, click on the green flag for a new drawing.

Can you draw a castle with the game?

Year 5 6 Using Scratch

This half term Year 5 & 6 are going to be using a program called Scratch . The program is free to download and use at home. Please ask an adult before downloading to your computer, go to http://scratch.mit.edu/ , click to download, save to your computer then run to install.

I have recently found a jigsaw on the ICT Starters website, have a go and see if you can complete the puzzle just for fun! Click here

New School Network

Exciting things have been happening in school while you have all been enjoying your holidays.
The school network has been updated and rebuilt with most workstations now running Windows 7 and all updated to Office 2010. There are new login screens, new programs and new features for you all to explore when you come back to school.
I am looking forward to you all seeing what we have been doing in the new term.
